What’s so important about color?

When I think of color, I immediately think of communication. I also think of expression, feelings, thoughts and in a way, peoples lives. It’s rich and vibrant, changing, shifting in hues and values.  And in my life color has been a huge part of it and in addition my creative journey. It’s where I begin when I’m about to shop for something, design a project or when I make dinner. Do I already have a jacket in blue? Will this pink be too jarring for a website? Are there enough greens on my plate? It’s something that I can’t escape and therefore is part of my process in every aspect of my life. And not to mention the cultural, historic and social impacts of color. 

While there are many design principles, color is by far my favorite and in my opinion, the most important. Which is why Adieu Blanc was born. I’m always thinking about color and designing with it. So why not write about it too?
